In-person Services

With the weather getting cooler, and vaccine eligibility increasing, we have made the decision to move back indoors starting the second week of advent (Dec 5th.)! For everyones comfort and safety, please wear a mask to our indoor services. Until the 5th, we will continue meeting on Sunday mornings at 10am on the front lawn of our building. All are invited to a movement and a story. Servant Church is a faith community in central-east Austin. We’re students, artists, social workers, teachers, musicians, and retail, government, and hospitality workers. We come together so that we can grow in “inviting, becoming, demonstrating” faith, hope, and love.

A statement regarding General Conference 2019. On behalf of the Servant Church Board and our congregation as a whole, we welcome ALL people to participate fully in this church. In light of the decisions made by General Conference 2019, we especially affirm members of the LGBTQIA community, and will not stop supporting your relationships or personhood. We welcome the gifts you bring and fully support the ordination of LGBTQIA people. The UMC’s official position, as reflected in the Traditional Plan and the Book of Discipline, is perpetuating already existing harm to members of the body of Christ and to clergy whose sacred worth is being denied. As Christians and as human beings, we are among those whose faith in Jesus Christ and understanding of Scripture compels us to take a stand. We are exploring a way forward so that we can continue to be a beacon of inclusion and integrity in our community. Regardless of what our journey forward will look like, we think it is imperative to abide by the command God gives each of us to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to this we are committed. *Adopted by the Servant Church Board, April 2019
